Top stories of the past week

1) GameStop is back(?): After not tweeting (yes, I still call it that) for nearly three years, @TheRoaringKitty, who previously helped drive the meme-stock mania with GameStop, broke his silence. GameStop stock went up by 377% in two days before falling by 66% from its highs.

2) Biden vs. Trump round 2: Joe Biden and Donald Trump have agreed to face each other in two debates on June 27th and September 10th. This will undoubtedly be hilarious and drive a spectacular display of memes. Get ready.

3) Elon fires then rehires: After firing 500 people staffed on Tesla’s Supercharger team, Elon began rehiring a few of them. This probably happened after he realized “ohhhh we need to recharge the batteries”. Clearly there is some chaos afoot at Tesla HQ.

Top WEIRD stories of the past week

1) In a classic "Kyle” move, 706 guys named Kyle gathered in the city of Kyle, Texas and fell short of breaking the record for the largest gathering of people with one name. How far short? The current record is 2,325 - done by a pack Ivans (more formally called an intrigue of Ivans) in Ivan, Bosnia.

2) An Indiana judge ruled that “tacos and burritos are Mexican-style sandwiches”. Not much going on in Indiana, apparently.

3) Naval Academy plebs (sounds offensive) climbed a greased obelisk (eye-brows eye-brows) over the course of more than two hours. Weird tradition!
